Downgrading from compressive to 3rd party car insurance

August 20th, 2009

Today AA Insurance released a press release stating that the number of people downgrading from comprehensive car insurance to 3rd party fire and theft has risen 22%. Firstly it doesn’t surprise me that in the current financial climate people are trying to cut down on the their costs by not upgrading their cars, and by downgrading their car insurance.

It’s also good to see people are not just cancelling their car insurance altogether, even though their cars might be of little value. It can be very risky driving an uninsured car not only because of the cost of damage to your vehicle but the cost of damaging another vehicle or property which could be substantially more valuable than yours. It’s just not worth the risk.
